What is this Indicator?
This indicator shows the percentage of the adult population who use special equipment due to a health problem.
Why this is important: 
People who require the use of special equipment such as a cane, a wheelchair, a special bed, or a special telephone may need accommodations in their home or workplace. According to the 2000 Census data, 24.4 percent of people between the ages of 5 and 64 have a disability, many of whom live in households with annual incomes under $15,000. People with limited income may have difficulty obtaining the equipment they require for daily activities.
Technical Note:  The regional value is compared to the Florida state value.
