What is this Indicator?
This indicator shows the rate per 100,000 population of total arrests for aggravated assaults.
Why this is important: 
Aggravated assault is an unlawful attack by one person upon another for the purpose of inflicting severe or aggravated bodily injury. This type of assault is usually accompanied by the use of a weapon or by means likely to produce death or great bodily harm. The threat of serious personal injury and possible death is substantial in incidents of aggravated assault. The Bureau of Census estimated that in a period of one year, 93.8% of all assaults involved some type of weaponry and 32.8% resulted in victim injury.
Technical Note:  The distribution for this indicator is based on data from all 67 Florida counties.

Technical Note:  The trend is a comparison between the most recent and previous measurement periods. Confidence intervals were not taken into account in determining the direction of the trend.
