What is this Indicator?
This indicator shows the ranking of the county in overall mortality according to the County Health Rankings. |
| Why this is important: Measures of mortality are commonly used to understand the distribution of premature deaths and leading causes of death. This information enables communities to allocate resources to high-risk groups as well as to the investigation and implementation of community-level prevention strategies. |
| Technical Note: The distribution is based on data from 67 Florida counties.Counties are ranked relative to the health of other counties in the same state on a variety of health measures. Those having high ranks, e.g. 1 or 2, are considered to be the "healthiest." Use caution when comparing current ranking to previous time periods as ranking criteria may have changed. |
